DevopsDays
Branding + design web
September 2019
About the project
DevopsDays is an international event held in different countries that tries to spread the Devops philosophy and tries to promote the absence of technological conferences focused on open source.
For this event it was necessary to create a logo that, according to the rules of the direction of the event, should contain one or more pieces with gear shape, the name of the event accompanied by the name of the city and something symbolic that represents that city.
In addition this event needed a website where to communicate with the users interested in attending the event, make the sale of tickets, schedule and program of the event and other relevant information that might be interesting to attendees.
My role
The main objective was to create a logo that had the characteristics indicated by the organization and had a representative symbol of the city of Caceres.
For the event's website, the main objective was the creation of a simple website containing essential information for the sponsors and attendees of the event.
Tools
Photoshop, Sketch and Zeplin.
Process of design
For the logo we did not want to use the typical skyline as previous cities had done, since the city of Cáceres does not have a prominent skyline. Every April, the city of Cáceres celebrates the most important festival of the city in honor of its patron saint, Saint George. In this celebration an enormous dragon is burned, emblem of the city and according to the legend.
This is why the main symbol of the event's logo was a dragon, representing the most important festival of the city. The organizing committee of the event thought it was a good idea.
For the event website, the website would be developed later in a wordpress. As this event was a non-profit event, the design had to be simple and easily replicable in this system. A design was created for both desktop and mobile resolution.
Once the objective was defined, I made the structure of the contents. In the upper part of the landing, I focused on briefly explaining what the event is, what it consists of and what the different formats are and a CTA for the sale of tickets for the event.
At the bottom of the landing a CTA to subscribe to the newsletter of the event and be informed of news and another CTA to send proposals for talks.
The different sections of the page show information about the event such as the detailed schedule of the event, the different speakers participating, the sponsors of the event and information about how to get to the location and additional tips to move around the city.
